Canton High School Reviews

It seams like every year I become more dissapointed with the high school. This year I was very upset to find out that the school is only offering spanish as a foreign language, especially knowing that the middle school also offers french, and it would be much more of a benefit to high school students. students also are rewarded by other students for doing drugs and do not take pride in their education. This school is not awful, but I would have expected it to be a lot better.

For a small, government run school district it's not bad. In the High School - english and foreign language departments are weak. Science, math and instrumental music are good. No drama department.

The high school is the weakest part of the school system.. everything up to it was great, but the high school struggles. Students are unbelievably 'clique-y' which is not very comforting for those not included- which is a fair amount. Teachers, in academics as well as on the sports fields, often choose favorites which can be hurtful as well. The facilities are decent, but not so great. Music program and sports are the school's strength but the academics and social aspects lack horribly.

As an alumni of Canton High School that was very involved with sports, extra-curriculars and academics, I can say that Canton High School is a terrific place for children to receive a solid education should they wish to take advantage of all it has to offer. It is not a place for the privileged or upper-middle class elite, but more so a balanced mix of kids coming from blue and white-collar backgrounds. As for kids being 'teased' because of they low-income background I never have heard of or seen anything remotely resembling such claims. It is highly competitive in many sports with significantly larger and better funded schools despite being a relatively small town. The only issue I would mention is the town's lack of foresight in expanding the increasingly crowded classrooms and underpaid teaching staff.

I am presently a senior at Canton High School. I pay tuition to attend Canton rather than going to my town's school for free. Canton is small but everyone is friendly. The students are welcoming as well as the faculty. The teachers are more than willing to give extra help and are much more involved with the students. This is my first month at Canton but I already love it. I don't have a lot of money but it doesn't matter. I have been able to find good friends who like me for me, not the clothes I wear or the way I look.

Canton Jr./Sr. high school is for childern with upper class and have stable econmical status. Otherwise if your middle class and have trouble sometimes staying on top of things when it comes to money then Canton may not be the place for you child to attend, Often children are teased because of money. I belive canton is not a nice place to raise childern because of the little it offers and the social issues that take place.

If you have a teenager that does not suffer from low self esteem, is comfortable socializing with peers even when those peers can be very hurtful, dosen't mind feeling unaccepted by peers and some teacher's, has become stale in the sports department than Canton High is for your teen.

Canton Jr/Sr high School is a place to learn. Behavorial problems are not an issue. I feel that its atmosphere is one in which a child can and will learn.
